How to make a GIF from a short video clip
Choose a short section of a video and balance animation width, frame rate and file size.
- Choose an MP4 or MOV and set the clip start and end.
- Select width, frame rate and looping, keeping the clip within the frame limit.
- Make the GIF, preview its motion and download it.
- Input
- A supported MP4 or MOV file up to 100 MB and 30 minutes.
- Output
- An animated GIF without sound.
Before you start
- Clips must be 0.1–15 seconds and at most 100 frames: up to 15 seconds at 5 fps, 10 at 10 fps, 6.66 at 15 fps, or 5 at 20 fps.
- Protected videos, unsupported codecs and some video formats cannot be processed. Shorter clips or smaller widths may be needed.
